The hinge on this huge Top-hung has bent way out of shape. I know it’s relatively easy to replace hinges on these but this one is on a second story, and there’s just me. So for now I wanted to bend it back… anyone have any ideas?

I’ve tried heating it with a hairdryer to no avail, bang it with the hammer a few times… nowt. Just wondered if there’s some technique that might work I haven’t thought of yet.

You will not be able to straighten that with it in place, your best chance is to remove then try to straighten - even then, it may not succeed. If you can buy and fit a replacement, that is your best option.

Yeah I was worried that might be the case. But the bastard is 108x92cm on a second storey, no way I’d take that off the hinges without dropping it forward. I’ll just call a lad out tomorrow- thanks!
