Because for obvious reasons you have nowhere to put a 'great lump of protective armour' on a euro cylinder, two very different locks John, however euro cylinders that meet the higher standards will be anti snap and have sacrificial cuts in them, the cheaper ones won't but the same goes for cheaper sashlocks, they too won't have hardened cases so you see John there is good and bad for both types of lock, not everybody wants a wooden door with a sashlock or a yale lock and deadlock, some people don't want to have to paint or stain a door every 2 years if its south facing, some people want the convenience of wipe down plastic or GRP and inherantly your going to get a MPL with a euro cylinder, FYI John euro cylinders have come a long way since the 70/80's even 90's
You can have your BS3621 sashlock in your solid oak front door with through bolts on the handles thats fine because a burglar isn't stupid enough nor has the tools or time to sit there attacking the lock, they'll just go around the back and use an automatic centre punch on your toughened glass patio door
