Hi all,

I'm currently building come cabinets for my living room alcoves and need to take measurements for the doors.

The cabinets will have 2 doors filling a single opening with a central vertical post for the doors to close on to.

Am I best measuring each door individually and deducting 4mm to allow for a 2mm gap either side?

Thanks
Dan

What finish are you putting on the doors? I recently built a wardrobe and allowed 4mm clearance as you describe, but with the paint build up on the frame and the doors its a bit tight and as and when i do the next set i'll work to 5mm clearance to allow that bit extra for the paint.

Will be acrylic primer and then probably a vinyl Matt emulsion over that.

Was your clearance 4mm of the overall space or 4mm at either end of the door?
