Best treatment for tanalised timber?

What is the best treatment for tanalised timber, in a fairly wet area (Pennines?) The timber will be in a very damp, shady part of the garden. I was originally planning to paint it, but it's been delivered quite wet; so any painting will probably be best left until summer now, for the timber to dry out. I think. Will it be better leaving the timber as is, or using oil, or leaving it indoors for a day or two to dry out and then painting? (I think it will take longer than a few days to dry though?)

in general wood will not rot going from dry to sodden is not a problem providing it is constantly changing moisture content and not hovering around the 20% mark this include any timber treated untreated providing it can breath
if its for a dry interior situation then paint is fine to control the moisture content to avoid swelling and binding but iff fully exposed to the rain and weather best to avoid a non-breathable finish like paint that can trap water in and allow rot as it cant dry out
i have several bit off joinery timber untreated and around 30 years old in open air vertical and yes it fairly black and fence grey colour but 95% uneffected as its spaced off the fence posts allowing 100% air circulation
