All my rads except the bathroom have TRVs and I have no room stat.
There is no problem with the combi boiler heating but there is a bit of a mixture of makes and type of TRV as valves and or rads have been changed over the years and some of them are looking a bit care worn.

I am looking to replace them with new ones all of the same type.

Any advice as to the best make and type would be welcome.

The TRV4 is very good, and to my eye it is also very attractive, so that's what I got for my own house.

However, it is also sold at a premium price. I am sure the Danfoss RAS-C² is just as good, and nearly as attractive, but noticeably cheaper, so I bought them for my old mum's house.

It possibly also looks less dated.

You asked for the best i pointed it out for you anything else is poor substitute ,as for poor looks john i think you are looking through rose tinted glasses and because of the price you have to justify to yourself the cheaper option

I dont blame you sometimes we fit premium gear and sometimes its mediocre :D :D

The TRV4 is indeed a very nice valve indeed, it works very well, is very reliable, has a nice action and feel and in my opinion a good looking valve.. Regarding the price... It will be a long time before you need to replace them

i like the honeywell vt200 's, along the same lines as the drayton i suppose, around the same price.

Herz, can change the cot pin under pressure so never need to change a TRV again once you fit them.

You can usually get brand new TRV4's on Ebay for about £10 each. They frequently come in trade packs (boxes) instead of the normal blister pack.

The thing I like about the TRV4 is that you can use it to adjust the radiator balance; but you need a special box spanner -free from Drayton). The LS valve is then left fully open.
