Hi all,

I am tasking myself to paint the stair wall with a handrail attached. I do not intend on removing the handrail so wondered the best method to keep a wet edge and good finish (not expecting perfection as a DIY guy!). The wall also runs through to the door area at the bottom left.

Any help, much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. In terms of rolling technique, should I look to do the top half to the handrail and lay off, then attempt the bottom half? I've got an extension pole which should help me.

Some Floetrol in the paint will help to maintain a wet edge.

If your paint is particularly unforgiving, roll, say, about 1m wide above and then below, making your way up or down the stairs (depending on which end you start from).
