Bi-Fold Door Handle Repair

Please help!

the pin dropped out of the door handle mechanism which holds the handle onto the door and the handle fell off.....I cannot reassemble it as I do not know how to fit the spring back in, Ive tried and tried to no avail. anyone know how to help please?
I've tried uploading a photo but I can't seem to do that either ...
