I'm building an extension and I'm going to fit bi fold doors.
I've returned the brick work to allow for a 14ft door

What lintal cantic would you recommend

Thanks

With that span you should be getting your answer from the designer/engineer who knows what loads are above.

You will probably need a steel beam rather than a catnic

The devils in the detail with bifolds, floor supported or top hung? You doing this on a Notice presumably?

Agree with the guys, a 4.3m span (opening) deserves a squint from an SE.

Also consider the roof pitch above (if shallow) and any bedroom windows etc, regards pitching under them and wall plate position above the doors, when deciding on lintel/beam depth.
