Biasi 24s cutting out intermittently

cheers boys.

transam: that's it really, people will do what they're going to do and no-one can put a stop to that. laws are made so that when something goes wrong, someone becomes accountable either for something that they did or failed to do.
as for the forums, they are simply a place for discussion. if i feel that a particular answer would be inappropriate, i don't give it. when i do answer i try to be careful with my wording so that i'm giving my own opinions, rather than advice since i don't know who might read my answers. it is a fine line but if people want information they will get it from one source or another.

agile, you are probably right that there are probably excess fitters at the moment and how i'm beginning to wish i was in the air-con field right now! it's the next big thing.
as for gas installers there are good and bad as with all trades. i've seen some horrendous examples of incompetence, and TV such as rogue traders only shows that some people are driven by greed, not pride in what they do. it's the way life is and all we can do is hope for better things

sorry, transam, our posts overlapped. i'll reiterate that i stop short of giving 'advice' which would encourage someone to do something they weren't allowed to do by law.

Lifesagasman !

I would not nessarily say that we are in the wrong trade , we are only in uor 5th year of mass condensing boiler installs , reliability is down the toilet , there are likely to be good times , if that is the right term , for the installer/ repair sector , the consumer is likely to pay a heavy price , for this inniative , that has basically only moved any pollution some where else . irrespective of what some say , gas boilers will be here for a long long , long time , the future is in boiler repairs ,diagnostics ! less & less peolpe are taking on trainees , there will be a shortage !! :)

i think the good times will come after my time is up!

i like the diagnostic side of the job but the accreditation system is just so expensive, and is it really worth the hassle and personal responsibility that it brings?

and a PS the customer will pay a heavy price for all these energy efficient boilers (and cars)

As he says the green LED goes dim it should be a very easy fault to find as its powered directly from the 12v stabilised supply from the 7812.

Probably a poor joint on the 24v supply perhaps on the smoothing cap or one of the diodes in the bridge.
