Bidet toilet attachment?

I was asked today whilst installing a gas cooker if I would install the clients Bidet, I have never seen one of these before, it fits on to the WC seat and has a hot and cold feed that go on the basin pipework.
My concern is that I thought a Bidet had to have check valves or a separate water supply, i.e not fed from a potable source.
Can anyone shed some light on this please.....
