I have some holes in my concrete kitchen floor, from 1 to 6 inches deep. The floor seems to have about a 1 inch black waterproof layer on top. I was going to fill the holes with 4:1 mix concrete, but I guess I'd need to re-seal the floor if I've broken the damp proof layer? Could I use bitumen paint on the top after the holes are filled?

That`s a trowelled bitumen floor - same as used to be done on roofs . I would fill with `crete to just under the 1 inch layer - then seal round with Synthaprufe, or similar Liquid ( not quite the same as bit, paint  ) and fill the remainder to flush with the floor using sand/ cement
