A friend has a B&D cordless drill HP9096 which was her late husband’s. Unfortunately she can’t find the charger so wants to use an off-the-shelf charger from Comet etc. Although we know the drill’s battery is 9.6V we don’t know the charging voltage and current or the required polarity as these aren't marked on the drill or stated in the instructions. Can anyone please help?

The standard configuration is centre pole positive, in a concentric type plug, to charge a 9.6 volt battery you need a charger of about 12 volts at 500ma
I hope this helps.
