We have red Friday when the Unions it would seem gained a victory and then 9 months latter on the 7th May 1926 Black Friday when it became apparent the government had squashed the general strike which ended a few days later.

So how does an event in May get celebrated just before Christmas? And was the beating of the Unions anything to celebrate anyway? I was certainly a black day for the working man and for the coal miner a really black day.

It's another American import. Nothing to do with red, or any other colour, Friday.
