On the back of the house we have not long purchased, is a half single course brick and double glazed extension. It was very cold in there ( no heating ). After installing a radiator in there black mould has started to appear on the bricwork..... Would drylining cure this problem...

if you do dry line, use the insulation backed boards. at least these will give a modicum of insulation. did you say the extension is only single brick? and what did you mean by half, a dwarf wall?

a structure like the one you describe will be very difficult to heat as most of it will be lost through the windows/walls/roof etc. this means that due to all the available cold spots, condensation and its little brother, black mould, will always be a problem.

it is advisable to seek an alternative form of heating separate from the domestic c/h such as an electric fan heater or oil radiator, as this space will make the c/h less efficient.

ventilation and insulation are the first lines of defence. avoid airing wet clothes in there or any forms of moisture rich items. even breathing releases plenty of moisture into the air, so avoid that too!!

only kidding. :D
