Black plastic gutters with limescale marks at joints.

Where there are joints ,down pipes etc. a white deposit has appeared over time at all joints.
I guess because we are in a hard water area.
The question is how to remove it without scraping it or wire brushing it as obviously it will scratch the plastic.
I’ve tried silicon n WD40 without success, any ideas ? T.I.A

I cannot see how hard water can get in your gutters which carry rainwater.
I assume you mean downpipes carrying waste water from the bath etc. trying a de-scaler like viakal or limelight on an inconspicuous area might be worth a try, also remember black gutter does often suffer from bleaching due to sunlight.

I've seen it on an old house with lime mortar in the chimneystacks. Might also be from building dust on the roof, or concrete roof tiles. It will only show if the joint seals have failed.
