Bland radiators

Can anyone suggest a better alternative to uneconomical mdf radiator casings?
Ive just moved house and have lots of bland white radiators sticking out like a sore thumb, in my last house i had furniture in front of most of them so didnt bother me as much, now im sick to death of them.

I wont be putting any sort of casing around them as the house is cold enough as it is, so alternatives would be great.

Can anybody help me with the matter?

I'm not too great with the old paintbrush, I have a mate that's pretty good but is there no better way? Will the paint not just rub off after time or could it could off without damaging te radiator?

Get rid and fit some plastic ones. Available in 14 different colours:
