I had my drive relayed 3 months ago with more stone and sand to level it out.
The drive has a slight gradient going towards the house so had some aico drains put in at the front of the house in front of the DPC, there is some mortar between the DPC and the drains.

I have noticed that in the rain the rain rarely gets to the aico drains. It often drains through the paving blocks(I take it they are permable) or between the junction between the aico drain and blocks, where the sand has washed out.

The drains were bedded with some mortar/cement.

Are these drains working correctly?
thanks

The joint between the chanel and the pavers should be filed with sand like the rest of the joints.

Sand (kiln dried from Wickes/B&Q) often needs topping up for a while after new paving, I used to keep a plastic bottle and go round pouring it in. If it never stops needing topping up check it's not leaking into the acco joints.

Thanks for the helpful feedback.
I found along of the sand washed out when it rained, apart from keeping it topped up any other way to stop it washing out?

Thanks

Around my gullies here, after filing with sand I've run some clear silicone (well polymer mastic) around the joint. Also blew a bit of the sand into the wet mastic. The same could apply to acco channels.

Hi Both seem like great ideas I like the idea of some mastic with some sand blown over.

Gotta wait for a dry day could be a while!!
