Blockage into drain

Tried pushing a wooden handle into this hole going into drain but wouldn't go through into drain. Drain rod with corkscrew attachment?

Prolly time to call for the gully-sucker truck to clear the whole thing out.

Lift the lid and see what's what. Shovel out the accumulated mud, find the other end of that pipe then rinse the whole lot out with a hosepipe.

It looks a bit hand-crafted, possibly a length of square plastic downpipe concreted in. So it's probably fairly delicate so don't do anything daft like ramming a wooden pole down it.

Yeah probably go with the drain rod and worm screw and check inside the drain as per @Ivor Windybottom

I didn't find it harrowing, just felt deeply wrong!
I do have a beautiful colon though...
