I had a blockage which was affecting the kitchen sink and bathroom which is downstairs. The bath waste and toilet was not affected but had to use a bucket to wash up in and a bowl to wash in!! Over a period of 2 days I used drain cleaner(sulphuric acid) gradually then a bendy rod at the drain end, all worth it in the end as did not have to call a plumber!

That's all very well, but you'll probably need a plumber to replace all the seals whose lives have been shortened by the acid :!:

One of the cheapest most effective cure's is normal washing soda crystals disolved in boiling water & allowed to drain away as slow as possible(plug waste with a cloth.) Soda crystals brakr down grease & gunge.

Tried soda crystals to no avail, thanks for the tip.
As for damaging seals, presume you are a plumber )
