Blocked up window mortar wet after 1 day

Is this normal? Window was blocked up yesterday. Mortar in the area where the bricks look darker is a bit wet. It didn't look wet yesterday. Is this normal? It is just how it dries out if the blocks got a bit wet, and I just need to wait for it all to dry out? Looks OK on the outside, no signs of anything leaking anywhere. I've put the dehumidifier on to see if that helps speed things along.

That's a nice job, I wouldn't bother with plaster.
