Hi all,

My other half in her wisdom baught some nice looking ring curtains. I did the job as requested to fit new shiny pole and attach curtains...

Anyone any suggestions as to the best way of adding blackout to them, as they are very thin... Ive googled and not come up with anything, and cant see anywhere where I could attach.... not my specialist subject so think its best to ask.

Thanks in advance

Best to take them somewhere to get it done.

Some dry cleaning services offer work of this nature you could try one of them.

The simplest option is to buy a separate lining curtain. Then, while the hooks of the curtain proper go into the rings, the hooks of the lining go into the TAPE of the original curtain eg:
http://www.dunelm-mill.com/shop/blackout-ready-made-curtain-linings-166201
[The drop of the lining has to be 3" or 6" less than the drop of the curtain otherwise they will show.]
[However the linings DON'T have to be the exactly the same width as the original curtain - you just pull the gathering strings in the lining to generate the same gathered width as your finished, gathered curtain]
