Found this today and have no idea where it fell off from. Was just under car in the drive. made of rubber

any ideas where it goes?

the top part has a rubber flap with the letter r on it

Looks like the aircon water drain pipe, might live on the side of the transmission tunnel.

Must have come off when I got a new wiper motor fitted and didn't put back on. Will it do much damage to leave it off.?

It looks to me like it's been knocked off the heater scuttle, while the wiper motor was being fitted. You should be able to see the hole that it goes back into and it'll only take seconds to put it back in place.
