Hi there - first post, please be gentle, if a may ask a question.
I've a Ferroli F30B and I like to ask about the air auotvent that appears to be built into the back of the circulating pump housing. What position should the cap (like a car tyre valve cap with a hole in it) be left when running. When I found it it was screwed tight, I released it and a load of air came out with one drop of water. System pressure good and holding. Up till now the pump has sounded like it was passing air every now and then especially at start up. To me it seems that having the cap tight prevents any air escaping, I've left it slightly loose and all appears well. Have I done right? Thank you in advance. Paul.

most auto air vents (?) leak after a period of time , hence why many of them are found with the caps screwed down

but yes they are supposed to be open but  ect ect
