Boiler condemned due to overflow pipe

Interestingly the flue is within their remit as it is with all RGI's.

I figured the flue placement part was within their remit, just my bad phrasing. Regarding what you said before, I don't think the water is much of a worry due to the height, but I will get it sorted if I have to in order to rent my flat out.

Cheers,
Chris

You wouldn't say that if it spurted boiling water over anyone that happen to be passing.

British Gas were totally correct to point out the dangerous vent pipe.

But they had no authority to turn off your boiler just for that.

The closest part of most flues has to be at least 300 mm from any window or door into a property.

You dont say what that situation is as that does have a bearing on the Gas Safety Certificate.

Most RGIs would probably call it NCS if it was say at least 200 mm. Much less and most would not be happy.
