Hi all,

I had a combi boiler fitted August last year to replace storage heaters. The boiler works well but produces a lot of water which drips out of the flue. This would be OK apart from the fact the meter box is underneath it & it splashes on it making the wall wet. Should this happen or should I get the gas fitter back?

Regards

Get him back.
Sounds like the flue is falling the wrong way. It should fall back to the boiler.

The flue should be angled back towards the boiler a few of degrees if its a condensing appliance reducing the chance any drips from the flue outside. Is it running out the flue or just condensation formed on the terminal?

HI

the boiler flue should have been fitted on an angle pointing downwards towards the boiler so that when it condensates the water should run towards the boiler and then down the condensate plastic pipe.
the water contains acid and if left dripping it will cause corrosion .
this is also against the building regulations.

Some condensing boilers will drip off the edge of flue even when fitted perfectly, ideal classic is an example it tracks onto screw at bottom of terminal and drips away
