Hi there,
We have a problem with a Glow worm economy plus boiler (about 11 yrs old)
When turned on it makes a clicking sound for at least 6 minutes before lighting.
Gas registered plumber has changed the gas valve, the pcb and has renewed one of the parts on the fan but it still takes about 6 minutes of clicking to light.

When he had the boiler open you could see "sparking" across a couple of the terminals on the pcb, is this normal ?

Any help appreciated.

thanks.

The boiler should light up almost immediately!

Your plumber clearly has no idea about repairing boilers and you should not have had to pay for his incompetence or for the parts he unnecessarily fitted.

There are some older PCBs which have a glass spark gap which are used to create the ignition voltage and they do spark inside but that was mostly on boilers over 15 years old.

Otherwise the ignition voltage should be contained within the wires and not sparking anywhere except at the ignition spark gap inside the combustion chamber.
