boiler not firing up

search there is loads of stuff on here 
hi kevplumb greenlight is on when you turn hot water and heating on and a noise like a moter but nothing happens and when you turn the switch to hot water only nothing happens not even the noise of the moter any suggestions there is no orange or red light tarra.
