I have a ideal isar he24 boiler and whenever i turn my central heating off the pressure on boiler goes to zero. Any solutions?

Simple fix, your gasman will sort it in 5 minutes.

I wish I had seen this post before deciding to put more water from the filling loop.

not as simple as that, this has been covered many times but you need to follow all the steps, like most you will not and it will be a waste of time , read the FAQS and follow ALL the steps
