Hello all
I have a oil boiler open vented 4 pipe system with gravity hot water and pumped heating. The boiler started making a pinking sound or boiling sound i think you call it kettling well to me sounded like poor circulation so i changed the pump and success noise gone now 3 weeks later the noise is back went back today thought pump maybe faulty put another on no luck drained system thinking sludged up no luck nice and clean as i have left it now i put a cleaner in the system hoping that will work not holding my breath. Any ideas anybody the boiler sounds like its not getting enough circulation the stat on boiler is ok and the pump is on the return side of the heating.

it could be sludge baked onto the heat exchanger
