Boiler Problems, Hot Water ?? Worchester 24CDi

Sorry, thought I had answered that, yes with heating off, and tap on the boiler sturs into life, I can see where one switch is, where would the other be located ?

If there was one it would be located in the switch head right next to the one you can see.

Big question now is as already mentioned

With the system turned off when you run 'hot' water does the flow pipe become hot? If you let the tap run longer then the radiators would start to warm up indicating a problem with the diverter

You still havn't mentioned wether the hw LED lights up when tap is run you need to answer basic questions before looking into anything more complex.

Thanks for the replies, yes with everything off then the hot tap turned on the led ignition light comes on the front of the panel, and after about 5 minutes the radiators start to get warm. So why would the divert valve not be working, it is practically brand new, but everyone is suggesting this is the root cause.

Cheers Steve

The divertor valve is mechanical, if you turn a tap on, the boiler fires then the electrical switching is fine. If , as you say, the flow pipe gets hot for central heating, the divertor valve MUST be faulty, new or not. Heat is being generated correctly but just going to the wrong place thus poor hot water performance.

Thanks for the 'dummies guide' to diverter valves, the process of elimination has been really helpful. I will be calling the guy back, see if he can diagnose the fault, if now, he is 'Outta Here'

Once again, thanks all
