Just a quickie - what would you recommened the best way/quickest and easiest way to replace a PRV in a combi boiler - as turning off the isolation valves often results in a leak. Is it best to drain the system pipework ?

Thanks for your reply - yep good point about drainibg through the prv - but drain the whole system water?

Obviously the quickest way is to snatch it, may not be the best or easiest method though. ;)

You wont have to drain the whole system. Close any AAVs and once the pressure has been realeased from the system you will hve created a vacuum.

Tis physics innit!

know about the vacuum, but there'll be 2 open ends, not just 1 and we all know that sometimes vaccum's don't hold !

sorry there's only 1 open end connected to the primary system - so the vacuum holds then.... :)
