boiler wiring/switching

It was quite common to switch the boiler from the programmer, in the olden days. :lol:
It was also quite common to pipe a 20 - 30 kw boiler up with 15 mm from the split, doesn't make it good.

Never ever seen an old boiler under piped, but no doubt there was a few cowboys back then.

Was on a posh estate in the 60s and the heating had been connected with hose pipe and jubilee clips. :shock: just copper tails sticking up through the floor boards.

We nick named him hose pipe Hammond after that, (the later being his name) and he had done dozens like it.
 
If I had a pint for every boiler I have seen on a 15 mm gaspipe, I could throw one hell of a party. Just taken out a potty prima 100ff today, at least 3 metres of 15, probably more, but it disappeared under the floor.
