Bonding Radiators

Do you bond a single rad to the nearest socket or can you connect all rads together in a radial and then connect to the nearest socket for that room , thanks.
 
Are you refering to a room containing a bathtub or shower?

Need more information.
 
No its not a bathroom i am talking about bedrooms front rooms kitchen hallway, do you link all the rads together upstairs and then connect to the nearest socket earth and the same for downstairs
 
I take it you are talking of a bog standard normal wet central heating system? There is no need to do what you are saying.
 
But i thought rads were extraneous metalwork and should be bonded,i know the barhroom rad should be bonded to the light circuit
 
The good old bonding brigade!

There is no need to supplementary bond radiators or pipework unless with in the zones of a special location such as a bath/shower room or swimming pool.

A radiator is not generally an 'extraneous conductive part'.

Who told you that?

i know the barhroom rad should be bonded to the light circuit
And the shower circuit, if there is one.

And possibly the towel rail circuit.

And possibly the grid or sheathing of an underfloor heating circuit.

It is supplementary equipotential bonding, not earthing.

It is there to bond all extraneous-conductive-parts in Zones 1, 2 & 3 to the cpcs of all the circuits supplying Class I and Class II equipment in Zones 1, 2 & 3, not to earth anything.

Supplementary equipotential bonding cables do not go back to the MET.
 
So i would run 2 X 4.00mm bonding cables from the bathroom radiator and connect one to the light circuit and one to the shower circuit
 
Is the radiator plumbed in using metal pipework?

Does it make sense to run 2 cables like that, or would it be easier to run one to either the lighting circuit cpc or the shower circuit cpc, and then link those two cpcs separately, e.g. in the loft?
 
If all circuits in the bathroom were protected by 30ma rccds would i not have to bother with all this bonding
 
ok so both sparkybird and yourself agree that if the circuits are protected by a 30ma rccd then bonding does'nt have to be done
