You were the one suggesting those scenarios - look, this is where you did it:

Are you now saying that in the space of half an hour youve changed your mind and dont consider the scenarios likely enough to have to worry about them?

I'm suggesting your scenarios, read back on your own posts.

You really are talking nonsense, relax, take some deep breaths, re-read the posts if you don't fully understand them.

Where was my scenario of the Green Party vetoing a trade deal with Australia?

Where was my scenario of the Labour Party vetoing a trade deal with the USA?

You can show them cant you?

I mean, youre not just making up utter rubbish in a desperate attempt to distract from your faulty reasoning, are you?

What - with the democratically elected legislature having oversight, input, the right of veto?

Blimey - we couldnt have that, could we.

ME: "the democratically elected legislature having oversight, input, the right of veto"

YOU: "No trade deal with Australia because the Green Party will veto it. No trade deal with the USA because the Labour party will veto it."

You do so need to put more effort into this thinking lark, you know.

Just a thought - youre not trying to deny the legitimacy of any democratically elected goverment if you dont like their policies, are you?

Could be people are starting to see through populist politicians.
Trump is gone, Netanyahu is gone and a few others are looking like their time is up.

TBF a trade deal is supposed to leave both parties better off.

The question is will the increased import of meats from Australia drown out our local producers or just switch imports to another source.

Or the other question might be, will it matter in 15 years when we're all eating vat meat anyway.

Don't under estimate populism Vinty, it will bring down the EU and before that the Republic will exit, it's written in the tealeaves.

What a waste of bloody money that is.

Bojo does like a vanity project though in order to provide him with some form of legacy for the future

Meat consumption will go down dramatically, no doubt about that. As for our local farmers, we currently import about 250,000 tons of beef every year from the EU, the vast majority of that is from the Rep of Ireland.
It will hit EU suppliers for many years before it has any effect on our farmers.

    Ireland.
Brexit and the quotas the EU have allowed them mean they stand to lose a third of their fishing catch.
The UK trade deal with Australia will kill their beef farming overnight.
Half of their GDP is from ultra low corporation tax for US companies which the EU and Joe Biden is about to pill the plug on.

Will Ireland stay in the EU?, not to put too fine a point on it, they'd be ******* mental if they did.
