Boris pulls it off again

I read an interesting article earlier where the Germans said they were concentrating on their own troubles, the Americans were running around in blind panic, the French were trying to be sneaky.. Gordon and Alastair darling swooped in and saved the world..again..
You thought it was so interesting that you want to share it with us. But rather then providing a link to the source, so we can read it for ourselves, you thought you'd give us your paraphrased version, as seen through your blinkered vision.
Or maybe you don't want the forum to see the kind of website that is on your favourites list.

He gave our gold reserves away.

he sold some of them for a fair market price, after they had been unprofitable for many years, so that the money could be invested for UK growth. As you know, gold in a hole in the ground earns nothing and grows nothing.

you can always check the sincerity of the critics, by asking how much gold they bought, at a cheap price, in the declining years, while UK was selling.

How much did you buy?

Survival of the 2007-08 crash.

Always used to get a laugh out of that one, as he was always crowing that they were the party that cured boom and bust. Suppose in his defence it could be claimed 2007/8 wasn't exclusive to UK.

Then there was that time the plank left his mic on when he showed his true colours about the concerns of ordinary people. :ROFLMAO:

He was right - she was a bigoted old fool. Very often the "concerns of ordinary people" do actually turn out to be rooted in bigotry.

Well he was dishonest then, Him. Nowhere in any Labour manifesto did it claim they were going to open the floodgates. No one voted for such a destructive policy.

Or do you not agree in people having a say in how THEIR country is run? People like you are all for democracy, as long as it only suits your twisted agenda.

If I am recall correctly taken over the time we were in the EU on average net migration was higer during Tory rule.

Case in point - Priti - she want to stop people filing those coming in on boats as now we are not part of the EU - we can't send them back to France - we need to send them back where they came from after processing them. Problem is we have conracted so much of this out - its become a shambles.

Endless Government contracts for failing providers is a nice money spinner.

In fact Labour's high handed disdain for the plebs is still true today. When a desperate publican button-holed Keir Starmer about his support for lockdowns, Starmer told him not to lecture him. Completely crass response to someone who was possibly being driven to bankruptcy and shows how little Labour have learnt and that the metropolitan eliteism of Labour is still going strong.

Tories are even worse. In fact even more treacherous because they actually promise to reduce immigration while it goes ever higher.

I don't think its elitism - look at the elites in the Tory ranks. Starmer is scared of coming out against the Government during a pandemic as he would get skewered as playing politics (the papers and media run the show).

Bojo on each occasion instead of going hard early and stopping quick has gone for the late lockdowns and longer.

The India variant says hi. :)

Yet the public think hes more trustworthy than Keir. Now you can call Keir a lot of things but to think Bojo is more trustworthy just tells you how uninformed the British public are.

I bet you are more well informed than most of your friends / work colleagues.

However the pub's co-owner apologised for his partner's outburst.

There need to be an honest debate on the economy, taxes immigration etc but the narrative is shaped by the media.

Take for example taxes - everyone wants lower taxes because taxes are seen as a burden - it's how the narrative goes. But if I framed paying taxes as a civic contract between ourselves and the Government who actually had our interests at heart then we wouldn't all to eager to avoid taxes.

The narrative about immigration again does not let us have an honest debate. Demand for skills changes a lot quicker than the supply can - you can't just create say 5k doctors but you can open visas for drs from abroad.

As to the people coming in on boats - process them in public run facilties as quickly as possible. We are a first world country and even though many of these people coming are economic migrants we sholdn't lower ourselves to some third world country in their treatment - this doesn't mean we let them in - it simply means stop trying to get cheap healdlines like Priti with housing them in unsafe accomodation which ends us cositing more - but neither does it mean putting them in hotels as we want to contract everything out.
