Hi,

I have the above machine which has just blown its second element this year. The OE part lasted 3 years, the 1st pattern replacement lasted about 5 months and the second (pattern) has failed after 3 months.
Is it just a case of coughing up £50 for a genuine Bosch element or is there some other fault that could be causing premature failure?
It's a busy machine (family of 4, 2 kids under 5) but not excessively so.
We are in a hard water area and the elements always have a degree of scale buildup on them when they come out. Could this be 'hot spotting' the element?

Thanks.

Buy cheap buy twice. As the saying goes. Pattern parts don't last long. Try and descale it at least once a month to stop the build up of crud.
