BOSCH DISHWASHER SMS508GB/20 INTERMITTENT WATER FLOW

inlet hose intermittently lets water flow in, other times nothing happens. been going on for about 1 month now. Have cleaned filter in intlet hose attached to water pipe, and cleaned both filters inside machine. Someone mentioned it may be the control pad. Can anyone help please. Don't want to really buy new machine as when it does fill, it's fine.

Take the top and left hand panel off.
At the bottom of the water matrix you'll see the water management system. If there's water getting into the base it will lift a red lever and it won't allow water in.
Check for leaks and also check the transfer hose from this unit to the bottom of the sump for blockage.

Thanks very much. Will have a go tomorrow and let you know. Just read my initial message back again and not sure if I made myself clear. It's when I turn the machine on to do a wash that it will or will not let water into the machine. One day it will and another day it wont. If you think your answer could still rectify the problem, I shall go ahead. Many thanks for your help

Yep, I think there may be a slight leak or a blockage. Either will give the symptoms you describe.
Cost you nothing to check it out
There are other possibilities but it would be pure guesswork and I really wouldn't want to try and diagnose remotely as pcb's and other parts can be expensive.
