Bought in 2012. Very good powerful hedge cutter but rather heavy for prolonged use.
I accidentally cut the cable about two feet from the handle. There were two options. One to put in a proper garden connector at that point it was cut or to open it up and connect the cable up to the internal terminals.
My advice is put a connector on the cable and don't even consider opening it up..
I actually opted to open it up. Whilst connection the cable using mini push on connectors was simple enough given you have a crimper and a suitable spline screwdriver. Putting the thing together again took me almost a full day and a great deal of patience. I had to work out how it all went together. It's full of springs, rods, switches and mechanical parts and lots of black grease. definitely not designed to be taken apart, despite the fact that there is a whole range of spares available from Bosch.
If anyone does get stuck PM me and I will try and point you in the right direction.

If you were feeling brave and wanted to help others, take it apart again and put it back together, taking pictures as you go :D

I did the same thing a few weeks ago but opted for a plug connector which can be separated so that the cable doesn't have to hang on the wall.
