Hi all
AXT1600HP Bosch Shredder - Can anyone help me locate a switch for sale anywhere?
The switch is item 4/20 in the parts diagram but I am unable to find it anywhere online for purchase.
Cant find anything on the Bosch website.
Cheers Doug

You asked this before, the part is seemingly no longer available.
Yes, I had no response on the 'Tools' section so thought I would try 'General'.
Frustrating that a perfectly good machine may have to be scrapped due to the lack of a cheap switch.
May have to look at a possible jury rig repair.

Do any of these look similar
If they do you need to check that it has the same or higher current rating as your machine

Just asking..... Are you sure that it is the switch at fault?

Asking as i was wondering if the capacitor is at fault. I have changed capacitors more frequently (a few times) than switches on lawn mowers.

Have you got a picture of the actual switch?
Have you tested the switch with a multimeter?
I was going to say "It's unlikely they made a bespoke switch just for this" but this is Bosch and Bosch make lots of things, so wouldn't want to rule that one out!

This is what comes up with an image search?

I think maybe you could come up with some method of at least, using the machine........the ATCO equivalent switch has gone AWOL too.
You would lose some overload protection and the reversing facility though.
John :)

The switch mechanism is actually broken. I'll put up a pic of it.

Hmm, I think I'd just mount a 2 gang 2 way light switch to the side of the machine, use one switch for on/off and the other for direction.

Did a Google Search for
"700 2/6 switch"

and it looks like it is a c£25 switch also used by Karcher:

Thanks SFK for the info.
The Karcher black switch lever appears to be a push/pull type, whereas the Bosch shredder is a rotary switch.
I'll have to see whether the switch can be modified, or the shredder can be wired as a push switch.
The problem is that the on/off switch plastic control knob (not in the above pics) is ganged to the forward/reverse switch to ensure the machine is switched off before changing direction.

Just realised the control knob is shaped such that when it is rotated, it converts the round motion to a horizontal motion to operate the switch.
I will order the switch and see how it goes.

Obsolescence Management - For dry use only :)

The recommended switch was wired differently so not suitable.
Manage to find this switch in amongst my 'odds and sods' box.
