Bosch Tile Router, any good?

Never had cause to use one mate, sorry i cant be of any help to you. Maybe 1 of the other lads has some knowledge of this router

Likewise I’m afraid. Seems like a lot of wonga to fork out for trimming & drilling small holes in tiles. I tend to use old fashioned methods which are just as effective but obviously slower. At the end of the day, it depends if you can justify the cost but unless you’re in the category of “super tiler” where time is an absolute premium, I would say not!

Richard, you attempted the hole with the hammer yet mate?
I know how versatile a hammer can be but that was a bit of a revelation to me; yes I did have a little go at it (out in the garden away from prying eyes) but it took me a while & I was not confident but that’s probably just a lack of practice & a fear of breaking tiles; although I didn’t. I chickened out though & reverted to the multiple hole & file method which I can do fairly quickly anyway.

well to me that looks like a total waste of hard earned, just to say 'O IVE GOT 1'.

sorry op(sweet)

waste of money imo...other/better cheaper kits out there...

That is like a rotozip, i had an imitation thing from aldi years ago to cut out plasterboard for sockets and switches and it was ok but by time you get it out the van and set it up and kept a steady hand so it didn't go off course you could have done 4 boxes with a jab saw. As for tiling applications, whats wrong with a set of diamond core drills or dropping the tile onto a wet wheel for square cuts?

Would you mind sharing the hammer trick with a non tradesman tictic or jctiling, or is it one for the brotherhood of tilers? I have some tiling coming up in a bathroom that I thought I'd have a go at myself. I did my top floor shower enclosure a few years ago with aquaboards, tanking and all, which hasn't shown any defects to date.
