I expected jointing compound to be like a paste, but this stuff is more like mashed up, soggy paper in consistency and it's difficult to spread and get to adhere to the outside of a pipe or olive in an even film. Is jointing compound normally like this? The tub says: "Apply BOSS SUPER GREEN over the male thread and ensure the thread is completely filled.". But most (who use compound) advocate applying it just around the olive, (and sometimes the pipe too), so I'm wondering if this is different stuff...
