Hi everyone, I’m just starting the install of a kitchen in a new extension. I’ll have a 1.5 bowl sink in an 800mm unit, with a dishwasher to the left. Hopefully boiling water tap too.

I’ve got to bring in the hot and cold supplies in from the right hand side before fitting the units, wondered if there was a best practise for heights and locations? Got a feeling if I don’t think about it enough I’ll end up with copper pipes where I want plastic waste pipes to go later on

Any help/rules of thumb/diagrams/photos much appreciated from the more experienced folk here!

Not really - pipework runs, locations are all usually determined by locations of waste outlets, supply locations etc. so each layout is usually different

A few key things to remember though -

- clip all pipework properly
- waste water can't run uphill and don't use pushfit waste
- keep pipe run lengths to a minimum
- apply building/water regs
- use good quality fittings and fixtures
- use correct pipe sizes
