Looks like he's gone...!!

is that good or bad for England?

An Italian deserting a sinking ship?? ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Who'd have believed it.

Silly really, just because he was on 6 million a year - and his contract ends after the Euros. So what now? No doubt Stuart Pearce will get the job pro tem, then advertise for a full time guy. The FA are a bunch of twits that should have retired long ago. For fs, I could pick the team for 6 million a year

i couldn't agree more... it should at least be result based pay !!!

Nahhhhhhhhhhhh , then. The FA have now got Redknapp lined up for a cushty role as England boss. At least if they don't win anything, he'll make the books look good. (and I bet his dog will be having puppies soon )

If Capello had been sacked, then he would have been paid £M's for termination of his contract.

Will Capello therefore pay the FA £M's for breach of Contract by terminating early???

The idiots at the FA probably agreed a biased contract where Capello can finish when he likes and will probably get £M's in settlement for loss of earning.

Its the same as any type of employment really, you get finished and get redundancy payment.....you leave and get and owe nothing!

People complain about bankers getting amillion - yet a part time football coach gets £6 million a year? Mental.

You miss the point Snico - Capello had a contract, 'in normal' employment your contract is usually one to three months notice required, if you leave without notice that is termed Breach of Contract and therefore liable. If you terminate then it is up to the employer to pay your notice or make you work it. The FA should make Capello work his contract or if Capello refuses to work his contract he is liable under the Breach of Contract law. Maybe Capello organised the original contract where ho could terminate without notice but the FA had to honour the Full contract Terms. That is about what I would expect from the FA as they have enough money to throw away, it's a pity they don't throw some money to help the struggling clubs to survive.
I read that Capello in fact got £1.5 million pay off. Just how does that work? Being paid for breaking a contract, shows how UGLY this game of Football is, when clubs like Darlington are struggling to stay afloat for the sake of £100K.
ALL of the money is at the top of the game , and in doing so strangles the game at it's grass roots. If you go on strangling the roots then eventually the 'Crop' will fail, unless of course the 'Idiots' that support/feed the game come to their senses (that assumes they have some sense) and stop funding the ridiculous wages and term of employment the game dishes out.
