Hi,
I plan on bricking up a window.
Does it matter what bricks I use inside or out if it is going to be rendered over anyway?

I have a mixture of engineering bricks and facing bricks left over. Can I just use a mixture of these or should I keep the bricks all the same?

Thanks

You can use whatever bricks you have available.
But engineering bricks, and maybe some facing bricks may not accept render or plaster as well as other types.
Seek advice on that aspect in plastering and rendering forum.
There are easy solutions such as mesh, SBR/sand base on face of bricks, etc.

The bricks should all be the same to remove the risk of condensation/ pattern staining on colder bricks
