Some of our bricks have a white substance on them. These are under our front window. Does anyone have any ideas and will this cause any other issues or should we just leave.

Thanks

Mine did the same for the first 5 years after we built a garden wall.
Bricky said it was salt in the mortar and eventually it will stop.
Indeed it did, although some bricks have some white stains left over.

It's efflorescence and by the looks of it caused by poor drip from that cill causing the bricks to be damper than they should be.

It's unsightly but not detrimental and will probably be there longer than you.
