Firstly the shower head is very slightly dripping all night. Somewhat annoying.

Secondly since our plumber released the air in the hot water tank and said we might get hotter water the shower has in fact really been steaming hot. We need to add much more cold now. It seems to vary a lot more too now.

We mentioned this lot to the local plumber who mentioned limescale and since it's approaching 5 years old (an educated guess) it may need maintenance. We've seen people talking about replacment cartridges? Any ideas what the part number is and where to get them from? We have no idea what the model of shower is - no documentation at all.

Some advice would be really great, even if it's only a pointer the right part number! Thanks.

Contact bristan if you email the image they will tell you exactly what the model is and the part no.

They will also try and sell you the part, but if you use a good plumbers merchants they'll sell it to you cheaper.

Very easy job but having said that it depends on your ability, can be tricky getting the old cartridge out as they tend to stick.

Dont forget to turn the water off and drain it down and also put plenty of towels or dust sheets in the bath just in case you drop the cartridge and crack the bath !

OK It's the 1901 - sorry I assumed that might be a part number since the others are named "Art Deco" etc.

So is it reasonable to replace the cartridge and expect the problems to be fixed or might it be something else?

if you google your shower valve you will find your exact model, probably on the site I gave you a link for, good luck.

FIrst move might be to set the thermostat on your hot water cylinder...
