does anybody know where i can get a copy of this pls.. most book shops want circa £60.

is it essential for training up/starting off etc?

That is the going rate I'm affraid. If you are wanting to do work which complies with BS7671 then you'll need a copy. Just be aware though, in early 2008 there is a new edition coming out.

if i am doing my 2382 next year would getting the 16th now for free be worth while? u know just for a general read through?

you could do the 16th edition now mate.when you have to upgrade to the 17th you will only be required to do the short one day course as you will only need to be tested on the sections that have changed.

The cheapest price for Electrican's guide to regs is on PLAY.COM I found followed by Waterstones online.

However, if you buy it via WWW.QUIDCO.COM you get cash back 4% for Play.com and 10% for Waterstones.

With regards to 17th Edition you can buy a complete kit for £86.00 (inc P+P) from NICEIC which includes new reg and tool box guide (similare to OSG I suppose) plus they are throwing in vouchers for other stuff as well. Order it now and it will be cheaper than in 2008 they say. Worth a look though. With all my last few posts I feel I've turned into a librarian.
