please can someone give me a steer on what 543.3.2 is? I cannot find it in my OSG. Context is

"Condition and accessibility of main protective bonding conductor connections (543.3.2; 544.1.2) requires further investigation without delay."

thanks

543.3.2
Every connection and joint shall be accessible for inspection, testing and maintenance except as provided by Regulation 526.3
544.1.2
The main protective bonding connection to any extraneous-conductive-part such as gas, water or other metallic pipework or service shall be made as near as practicable to the point of entry of that part into the premises. Where there is a meter, isolation point or union, the connection shall be made to the consumer’s hard metal pipeworkand before anybranchpipework.Wherepracticable theconnectionshallbemade within 600mm of the meter outlet union or at the point of entry to the building if the meter is external.
544.1.2 used to be very badly worded but, even after 'improvement', is still potentially somewhat ambiguous ansd certainly easily open to misinterpretation.

Hope that helps.

Kind Regards, John

I would interpret that sentance as meaning that the inspector had been unable to adequately inspect the main bonding conductors.

Is this really the same subject as being discussed on your other (similar) thread?

Not really, it's close but the other is about Earthing Conductor sizing and this one is about Bonding Conductor connections and accessibility.

Yes, but the other thread seemed like an academic question. It’s a different approach if the questions both stem from comments on the same EICR.

That would certainly be the obvious interpretation in relation to 543.3.2. However, if the inspector has not been able to adequately inspect the main bonding connection, it hard to see how he/she could know whether or not there was an issue in relation to 544.1.2 (which was also cited) !

Looked at the other way around, if the inspector has determined that there was an issue in relation to 544.1.2, they must have been able to 'inspect the main bonding connection adequately', so it would be hard to see why there would/could be an issue with 543.3.2 !

Kind Regards, John
