Buffalo G125 Router

I recently bought a Buffalo G125 Router, I thought it had a built in modem, but i don't think it has which makes it unsuitable for the purpose i had in mind(to use as a wirelesss router), is there any way I can adapt it with an external modem, or will i just have to buy a new one, as you can probably tell, i don't have much of a clue about this, so i would be really gratful for any help.
