Bug copy pasting images

I keep my photos in Google Photos and I know you can't copy paste the link in a post as they're private, but Chrome let's you copy paste an image instead of a link. E.g into paint or a word doc or an online forum.

Except it doesn't work here, see my post https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/pir-floor-insulation-on-top-of-concrete.606950/#post-5423499. If I'm logged in to Google the post displays properly. It works fine on other forums so my guess is this forum software copies the link somehow not the full image.

I end up screen shooting my browser and posting into the forum instead, except when I forget!

How big are the files? Some sites don't allow uploads of large files.

When I upload the same file directly from my phone (which is often larger than what's in Google) it works fine. I _think_ the issue is the forum is not taking a copy of the image just a link to it.

Chrome lets you drag a displayed image onto your desktop. You can then drag it into a post.
